Ever wanted to be "behind the scenes" of a real working railroad? Want to work (and play) with a great group of people who like to hang out on trains? Then consider becoming a volunteer with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Volunteer Association (CVSRVA)!
The CVSRVA welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds and interests. All we ask is that you be 18 years of age or older, be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties required, and be willing to lend a bit of "elbow grease" to keep things running.
Positions are open in many different areas (see below) with training available if you'd like to become an Engineer, Conductor, or Brakeman. To get started, just complete and sign this application and return it to the above address. Better yet, come to one of our Volunteer Meetings at the Days Inn, 4742 Brecksville Road (Route 21), Richfield, OH 44286. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of each month (except December).
All new volunteers start by attending a short Orientation Session. The purposes of the Orientation are to 1) acquaint you with "how to volunteer", and 2) make sure you're aware of critical safety considerations. Once on board, you'll work with experienced staff/volunteers as a "New Volunteer." As soon as you complete 50 hours of service, you'll become an "Active Volunteer" and be eligible for training, expanded duties, etc.
